Philippe Schucht, M.D.
Member of the Board
Philippe Schucht is a Professor of neurosurgery at Inselspital, University of Bern in Switzerland. Philippe has previously worked in the townships of Khayelitsha, Capetown (South Africa), as well as the universities of Montpellier (France) and San Francisco (USA). Philippe is the founder of Swiss Neurosurgeons International, Member of its Board and in charge of SNI`s Myanmar operations.
Dominique Kuhlen, M.D.
Member of the Board
Dominique Kuhlen is an attending neurosurgeon at Ospedale Civico di Lugano. She previously worked at Klinikum rechts der Isar, University of Munich (Germany) and at Inselspital, University of Bern (Switzerland) and is a renowned expert in spinal neurosurgery.
Janine Abu-Isa, M.D.
Member of the Board
After a neurosurgical education both in Switzerland and in France, Janine Abu-Isa is today an attending neurosurgeon at the Neurosurgical Department, Inselspital, University of Bern (Switzerland) and at Ospedale Civico di Lugano. Janine is in charge of all the good things in life and SNI`s middle east operations.
Kathleen Seidel, M.D.
NEUROSURGEON / NEUROPHYSIOLOGIST
Kathleen Seidel is attending physician in the department of neurosurgery at the Inselspital Bern. Her main focus is intraoperative neurophysiology (IOM) to guide tumor surgery and improve patient safety in high risk procedures. After a fellowship in New York, she did establish the Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Unit in Bern University Hospital, which is hosting regularly international observers. She is supporting IOM projects in India. Since 2018, Kathleen heads a project to build up a sustainable state-of-the-art IOM services in Myanmar on behalf of SNI.
Michael Murek, M.D.
Member of the Board
Michael Murek is a senior resident at the Neurosurgical Department, Inselspital, University of Bern (Switzerland). Michael previously contributed to developmental work in Humla, Nepal, and is in charge of SNI`s operations with Nepal.
Antoine Weber
Senior Consultant
A former Programm coordinator for the Swiss Red Cross, Antoine Weber has worked for decades in Asia, and is active in medical and housing projects throughout south-east Asia today. Antoine has been a senior consultant for Swiss Neurosurgeons International since 2012.
Gaudenz Trapp von Matsch
Treasurer
Gaudenz Trapp has been serving as treasurer and chief fund-raiser for Swiss Neurosurgeons International since 2014. When not active for SNI Gaudenz acts as Member of the Executive Board of IHAG Holding Corporation in Zürich.
Irena Zubak
Member
Irena is a neurosurgical resident at Inselspital, Bern University Hospital (Switzerland). She is currently taking care of the visiting physicians and nurses from Myanmar coming to Switzerland and is participating in the organisation of a swiss-burmese exchange program for neurosurgical residents.
