Advancing SNI’s Mission in Myanmar

Doctors in the operating room preparing for surgery

This November, Prof. Philippe Schucht, founder of SNI, returned to Myanmar. Due to the difficult situation the country is in we weren’t even sure entry would be possible. But once on the ground, everything moved fast.

We mapped out SNI’s vision for the next years, met with teams, and interviewed new fellowship candidates.

We also accepted the request of the Dean of Yangon Medical University to expand the scope of our fellowship program to additional fields of medicine, such as cardiac surgery and pediatrics. It’s an exciting step as we begin selecting specialists from these fields, contributing to the education of the next generation of medical teachers in Myanmar.
